This week we read the story The Dot written by Peter H. Reynolds. As we listened and discussed this story we focused on making connections. This strategy helps gets students thinking about the text and their own experiences. On Friday the children thought about what this story reminded them of and they wrote about their connection. Below is a video of the story The Dot. Listen to the story again and then tell me if you ever feel like Vashti (the little girl in the story). Make a connection with her character. Make sure you don't just answer yes or no; you HAVE to explain why! Use examples from the story in your response. Remember the connection does not have to be about drawing. I cannot wait to read your response!

Flip! Here your child will have an opportunity to respond to a question that connects to the learning happening in our classroom. This is a great way to get your child reflecting about their classroom experiences and sharing all the great things happening with you. It also helps me reflect too! Please encourage them to take part in this activity! They will earn a special treat when they do. Archives
